JM Honda Racing close to the top ten in Grand Prix MX2 in Indonesia

JM Honda Racing came close to the top ten at round ten of the world championship MX2 in Sumbawa, Indonesia! Camden McLellan had the speed for the top ten but made a few mistakes in the races on Sunday and had to be satisfied with 15th and 11th position respectively. Delvintor Alfarizi was riding a strong home Grand Prix and ended up in 17th and 16th position in the motos.

It was hot and humid in Sumbawa and this made it physically demanding for the riders. McLellan was riding a strong qualifying heat on Saturday. He took a good start and was fighting around fifth position in the first fifteen minutes. After that he dropped back to seventh after a few mistakes. He held on to this position till the last lap. He wasn’t able to make a jump and lost a position to Jago Geerts. Camden finished the race in eighth position and scored three world championship points. Alfarizi took a decent start and was riding just outside of the top ten. He was able to make a few passes in the beginning and was following the group for around ten minutes. After that he had to let them go and finally finished in sixteenth position.

After his strong performance on Saturday, McLellan had a difficult first moto. Due to some mistakes he finished the race in fifteenth place. Alfarizi made a crash in the second corner after the start. In the rest of the race he was struggling to find his rhythm and finished the race in seventeenth position.

McLellan took his revenge in the second moto. Despite the fact that he still made a few mistakes he finished the race in a strong eleventh position. Alfarizi was riding a better second moto as well. He took a decent start and came out of the first lap in thirteenth position.
