Mixed fortunes for Brent van Doninck in the Dutch Masters of Motocross 500 in Harfsen

Brent van Doninck of JM Honda Racing has had mixed fortunes at the opening round of the Dutch Masters of Motocross in Harfsen.

Van Doninck started the day strong and was third fastest in time practice. This gave him confidence going into the first moto.

Van Doninck took a good start in the first moto and was in second behind Jeffrey Herlings. He tried to follow the five time world champion and managed to do this really well. He kept him in his sights for the entire race and finished just 3.7 sec behind him in second.

Brent was motivated for the second moto and took a really good start. At one point he took the holeshot but unfortunately he slid out in the first corner. In the corner another rider collided with him and due to this he hurt his arm. Brent retired from the race and didn’t score points in this one.

With a 2-DNF in the motos he ended up in eleventh position overall. Next weekend the second round of the world championship will be held in Riola Sardo, Sardinia.
